Through the Years: Timeline of Our Nutrition Services

It all started in 1996 when Susan Johnson, along with her husband and family, opened healthy meal delivery company, an innovative fresh meal provider that delivers chef inspired meals directly to customers’ doorsteps twice a week. As a quality-driven pioneer in the fresh meal home delivery industry, Healthy meal delivery company became an instant success—and with success comes growth. At the end of 2002 the opportunity arose for Susan to enter a different food arena to provide and deliver healthy frozen meals to home bound seniors. Partnering with several southern California agencies and health providers, Susan opened LifeSpring Home Nutrition in January, 2003. Different meals, different clients, different staff, but the same emphasis on health, nutrition, and delicious meals that Susan believed in.

Expanding Horizons: LifeSpring’s CalAIM and County Initiatives

2024

LifeSpring extends its CalAIM initiatives beyond OC into LA and Riverside through new contracts and focuses on helping their community by reaching residents with chronic conditions through their counties. They’ve found a way to reach the chronic into community shelters and expanded other services to allow for cross sector referrals; ensuring nutritious food accessibility for all those in need.

2022

LifeSpring Home Nutrition Embarks on CalAIM Transformation

In 2022, LifeSpring Home Nutrition commenced participation in CalAIM, a transformative initiative enhancing Medi-Cal (California's Medicaid health care program) for greater equity and personalized care.

Carrying Forward the Legacy of LifeSpring Nutrition

In 2018, Cathleen Anthony, whose father recently had his 3rd stroke, assumed full ownership, gracefully embracing the honor of Susan Johnson who had sadly passed away on Dec 18, 2018. Cathleen is honored to have learned from their passion, compassion and divergent thinking.

LifeSpring Home Nutrition Births a Tradition of Culinary Excellence

2003

On January 1st of 2003, LifeSpring Home Nutrition was born, delivering medically tailored meals created and designed by RD’s and Medical professionals. Igniting another wave for a new kind of meals and tradition of culinary excellence that continues today. Keeping delivery to the home and choosing to stay local in Southern California is a choice Cathleen still stands behind today.

Mindful Eating: How to Cultivate a Healthy Relationship with Food

Susan and Cathleen created one of the first online ordering systems in the industry; thousands have since been created and you can still see their words and messaging throughout all the sites today being used. Allowing orders online was an unmatched convenience for consumers and led Johnson to even further success.
